Al Roker Home After Hospital Stay, But Not Yet Returning to 'Today'
'Grateful That My Family Shielded Me'
Al Roker, the beloved weatherman on NBC's "Today" show, is home from the hospital but won't be returning to the show just yet.
Roker, 68, underwent multiple surgeries for various health issues over the past year. He was hospitalized in November with blood clots in his lungs and legs. He also had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee.
In a Thursday, December 1, 2022, post on Instagram, Roker said he is "grateful that my family shielded me" from the extent of his health problems.
"I'm not going to lie, it's been a tough slog," he wrote. "But I'm on the mend and I'm looking forward to getting back to work and seeing you all soon."
Roker did not say when he expects to return to "Today." The show's co-anchors have been filling in for him in his absence.
Roker's health problems have been a major concern for his fans and colleagues. He has been a fixture on "Today" for more than 40 years, and his infectious personality and sense of humor have made him a beloved figure.
We wish Roker a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on "Today" soon.
